With the bulk of the team running in the Burton and District Summer League, several members competed in Stratford-upon-avon in the Shakespeare Full and Half Marathons. Taking on the full marathon distance were Men’s Captain Martin Yeomans and new member Gabby Smith. Martin found the race tough having struggled with a cold for several weeks but finished well in 4:06:23 (412th). Gabby had an excellent run in her first ever marathon finishing in 4:38:24 (616th). In the half marathon distance, Kelly Alldread had an incredible run in her first ever half marathon, finishing 6th lady (and 3rd in age group) in 1:30:57, a new club record. In the process she beat her husband Barry who was pleased with his run, finishing in 1:35:12 (172nd place). Angela Wheeler also had an excellent run to set a new personal best time of 2:03:02 (1194th place).
