As we skip into a new week with sprinkles of Spring showing, we’ve got more off-road goodness to share with you superstars.

Whilst Ivanhoe are more competitive in the Leicester version of the Derby Runner XC, running alongside it is the Staffs league, and our friends at South Derbyshire were kind enough to get us involved in their fixture on the calendar over in Boothorpe. Captain Cox rallied a team of 17 hardy souls to conquer the 5+ mile route and reported the troopers placed an amazing 3rd overall.

First back in position 12 was Paul Woods and therefore taking the club course crown in a time of 38 minutes on the dot. Following him home was Rupert May in 16th, and third to break 40 minutes was Paul Codd in 17th. Andrew Stanley had a solid run for 46th, with Mark Harriott in his yellow first claim vest separating him from the Cap in 55th. Mr Cox ran well for 68th in 45:55, Rich Hope hot on his heels only three seconds back. Patrick Horn enjoying this XC season finished 76th and next to finish was Andy Hough in 92th.

Squeezing into the top 100 was Mark Bradford in 45:22, with Colin Hope making a welcome Ivanhoe return this year, running 46:11 in position 108. Paul Averillo steadily becoming a master of the trails finished in 153 stopping the clock in 51:43 was our final male runner over the finishing line.

It was Amelia Monaghan topping the tree for the ladies, two little ducks her finishing position with a time of 46:07. Lindsay Tilbury ran the three miles to the race, and the same back home, notching up an impressive 30 miles total distance for the week, finished 48th.

Skipper Gemma Shaw questioned her weekend activity choices on one of the bigger climbs but couldn’t resist a surprise sprint finish, along with team player of the year Lucy Allsop, both having fabulous seasons so far, 52nd and 54th for our lovely pair. Our superb team were completed with none other than Wendy May 57:35 her time for 60th and Jenny Hope on an impressive XC streak this year 68th for our superstar in 1 hour and 44 seconds.
