30/04/2022 - parkrunday!

We’ve so much to catch up, and we’ll start with all the happenings in parkrunworld from the 16th & 23rd of April.

45 Ivanhoe Runners completed the 5K event somewhere on the morning of the 16th. A mighty contingent showed their faces at Conkers to help celebrate the event’s 11th birthday. Adam Smyth showed his face for his first parkrun of 2022, Lucy Allsop ran her arbitrary 200th parkrun, whilst Paul Averillo had a fabulous run out recording his quickest out there on the new course.

Elsewhere we still had plenty of touring going on. Mark Parker reared his head at Boston parkrun on route to a weekend of golf, Christine Ridley was at Princes parkrun in Liverpool, Richard Martin yet again stormed round his failsafe of Long Eaton, and Emily & Karl Wideman had a blast whilst down in Weymouth.

Fiona McKean completed Penrith parkrun, Emily Partridge added Wilmslow parkrun to her list, Victoria Smith visited Tetbury Goods Shed for the fifth time, Ramzi Sidani was up in Yorkshire and ran at Beverley Westwood parkrun and Kevin and Judith made their way to North Walsham parkrun. Out at Beacon parkrun, our super six of Mindy, Laura, Carolyn, Chris, Pete and Ken added the Lichfield run to their repertoire.

Fast forward another week and again we start at Conkers, where 36 other Ivanhoes were there to see Patrick Horn complete his 100th parkrun. Big congratulations Pat! Fiona, Pippa and Chris all supported the volunteer roster this week so a huge thank you!

As always we had plenty who were on their travels, Emily and Mark were in the big smoke and completed Richmond parkrun, Jordan Cope paid a visit to Markeaton parkrun, Judith & Kevin ticked off Westmill parkrun, and Karl Wideman ran at Chester parkrun.

Alastair Chambers ran the two laps of speedy Long Eaton, the Ashton’s collected a P for the alphabet at Perry Hall, James Cox galloped his way round Market Rasen Racecourse, Helen Finn joined the growing team of runners completing Belvoir Castle parkrun, and Sally and Andy were super grateful to have completed a parkrun after their plans to completed Pont y Bala parkrun were unsuccessful but some quick thinking meant they were able to do Dolgellau instead!
