02/04/2022 - parkrunday!

The last parkrunday of March saw tours galore and homerun hoorahs. So where was everyone and what do we have to celebrate?

21 club members lined up at Conkers and were there to join Martin Yeomans in celebrating his 100th turnout, which in his own words “has been a long time coming”. BIG CONGRATULATIONS MARTIN! ๐ŸŽ‰

Many thanks to this weeks volunteers: Ange Bebbington and Janet Joyce helping to marshal the car park, and Andrea Allen helping with pre-event setup. Also doing their bit for the parkrun community at juniors on Sunday was Ken, Kevin and Judith who all tried their hand at a spot of marshalling.

Mark and Emily again went west to Dudley parkrun, for the course that has it all. They looped the track, trotted along the canal, explored a nature reserve, jumped some train lines, before heading back to the canal and once more around the track.

Ken and Mindy added Kingsbury Water to their parkrun CVs having really gotten into the tourist groove lately, now with 16 different events to their name.

Serial tourists Sally and Andy added to their collection of South East parkruns visiting Linford Wood for the first time.

Damon Bland and Richard Martin re-visited their frequent stomping grounds at Watermead and Long Eaton respectively. Damon commenced his long slog to the 500 milestone with parkrun number 251. Richard had a strong run out, finishing within 16 seconds of his course PB.

Social secretary Vic Smith could be found at Marlborough Common parkrun, finishing in an impressive fourth place female.

Having a break from his Newark ED duties, Bob White joined forces with Kev and Judith at Shipley parkrun near Derby. I imagine this was the nearest event they’d not done? (Known as their NENDY, IYKYK ๐Ÿ˜œ)

Chris and Carolyn checked out Tooting Common parkrun, meaning Chris has completed his UK alphabet ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป, now in search of an X from overseas, one letter ahead of Carolyn who needs a D to help complete the set.
