18/02/2022 - parkrunday!

It’s parkrun eve already and we’re still yet to recap on last week’s happenings! We’d better get a move on!

Over at Conkers we had 40 runners taking part. Faye Burrows did a fabulous job of achieving an amazing 34 second course personal best out on the trails, massive well done on your super time of 30:01! Ramzi Sidani came home to collect the number three token, exactly the position he had predicted for this months Captain’s Challenge. Fantastic Ramzi!

A big thanks to our Ivanhoes who put their hands up to volunteer this week; Chris Osborne and Mindy Ashton. Bob White was also in high vis action at Newark parkrun, and on the Sunday, Chris was back out again on funnel manager duty at Swadlincote Junior parkrun, where he also found Emily Partridge barcode scanning.

On tour this week, we had Tom Potter at the speedy Long Eaton parkrun who laid down a fabulous time of 17:07. Also finishing in a time of 17:07 was Mark Parker at interestingly named The Wammy parkrun, joined by Emily Partridge who were both visiting the out and back along the Silverdale trail for the first time.

In the north, Victoria Smith could be found at Princes parkrun in Liverpool centre, completing the course for the first time and was the first finisher in her age category. Christine Ridley was also making her debut at a different course and checked out Northallerton for her 85th parkrun.

The super duo of Sally and Andy Jeyes visited Woodgate Valley parkrun, Birmingham. Naturally this fabulous pair both topped their age categories, with Sally scoring an overall record for the parkrun, and Andy entering the table in bronze medal position.

With Storm Eunice wreaking havoc today, do remember to check out your planned destinations status, their Facebook page is normally the first place for news drops, be safe, and we’ll be on the look out for what you get up to and where you go!
