Manchester Marathon marks the start of the spring marathon season and 10 runners from the club took on this event, 7 of them in new personal best times.

First back for Ivanhoe was Ramzi Sidani clocking a swift 2:52:30. Richard Martin finished with a new PB in 2:58:45, while Alistair Burgwin had a great run to clock 3:02:27, a new PB by over 10 minutes.

Club Chairman Nick Rowles was not far behind with a speedy 3:08:54, and new PB, ahead of Ian Bolton in a time of 3:18:00. It was another V70 age category win for Andy Jeyes with a brilliant 3:24:18.

It was PB's all round with the next four runners, as Kev Laz had a brilliant run to finish in 3:38:54. while Mark Hoult clocked 4:14:37, and Mukesh Deva finished in 4:27:01, with a significant 38 minute PB. Jessica Southwart was very happy to finish her second marathon in under 5 hours, clocking 4:56:29.

Four runners from the club ran the Loughborough half marathon, a good local event, run over 2 laps over a challenging course. Craig Hinds was first back in the blue vest, with a speedy 1:27:43. Patrick Horn came through next in 1:41:29, followed by Lindsay Tilbury and Paul Woods finishing together in 2:01:30.

Elsewhere, 7 runners took part in the Derby 10k, starting and finishing at Pride Park. It was Andrew Stanley who led the Ivanhoe runners home in a PB time of 40:44. Pav Mazur came in next at 43:47, ahead of Alan Edwards in 48:14.

Tor Meadow-Evans was first Ivanhoe lady back in 49:43, breaking the 50 minute barrier with a new PB time by over 3 minutes. Karen Edwards was next for the Ladies in 57:07, while Sophie Turner showed continuing improvement with her 10k PB, clocking 1:04:43, ahead of Helen Brandon in 1:05:12.

Finally, Tim Moore ran the Cathedral to Castle race, a 10 mile point to point between Litchfield Cathedral and Tamworth Castle, clocking 1:19:25.
