13/03/2018 - Final DRXC at Bosworth


The Final Cross Country race of the season at Market Bosworth saw 18 Ivanhoe runners compete in extremely wet and muddy conditions through the fields and woodland of Bosworth Battlefield. 

Karl Wideman was first this time for the club, coming in 50th place. Alistair Burgwin came in 62nd, with Mark Parker in 94th.

Andy Lindley ran well to place 104th , after an 8 mile training run, followed by James Cox in position 112. XC Captain Martin Yeomans took 133rd place, with XC stalwarts Alan Edwards and Julian Rawlins with respective places of 162 and 173, with Richard Trevalyn 2 places behind in 175th.

Fiona Betts had a great run to come in 23rd place and 1st Ivanhoe lady home. Lucy McDermott was not far behind with 29th. Julie Taylor in 56th and Carolyn Osbourne in 58th places made up the ladies scoring team. Ladies XC captain Teresa Talbott came a close 60th, then Sarah Malone in 99th. Lucy Allsop did well to come 108th after an 11 mile training run to the start line. Kelly Finney was 119th and Grania Towle 123rd.

At the close of the season for 2017/18, there were once again great team results, showing strength in numbers across all leagues. The men came 3rd overall in Division 2, while Ladies came 4th overall in Division 1.
The Combined team, comprising 5 men and 3 ladies, including vets finished 6th overall in Division 1.
