In another busy weekend of racing, while some Ivanhoe runners wallowed in the mud at Bosworth Battlefield, many other athletes took to the roads this weekend, either as part of their marathon training, or to get ahead on collecting those standard times, or maybe just avoiding the mud! Fradley 10k is a popular flat, fast, 2 lap race and featured several Ivanhoe runners. Matt Pleass was the first for the club in an impressive 38:03, and 24th position. Simon Terry came in at 41:34, followed by wife Sarah making a return to racing in 52.20.

Chrissie Betteridge had a storming run leading the pack to clock 1:04:14, then Fiona Speirs in 1:05:21 and a new PB, and Michelle Withey in 1:05:52. Jemma Coleman followed in 1:06:06, a new best time, then Kim Harris and Marie Miller (both 1:07:58 and both new PB's) and Val Crosby (1:10:26).

At the Milton Keynes Half Marathon Craig Hinds attained an impressive 1:24:56, showing months of hard training paying off ahead of this weekends Ashby 20.

It was Draycote Water 10K for Club Veterans Andy and Sally Jeyes, said to be an enjoyable gently undulating run around the reservoir. Andy was 26th overall in 44:09 and first Vet 60 man, and Sally was 138th in 59:01.

Jessica Taylor took on the Leicester Town and Gown 10k. She took at time of 1:04:01 in her debut run at this distance.

Ian Kirk ramped up yet more miles at the Cambridge Boundary Run marathon. Described as a mix of roads, paths, fields and mud with a few risky road crossings thrown in. Ian Clocked a steady 3 hours 54 minutes, without the heavy back pack this time.

Last but by no means least and in somewhat warmer weather Andrea Trickett and Matt Brocklehurst both ran in the Barcelona Marathon. Matt ran a fantastic time of 3:14:42, and Andrea finding it tough but still managed a sub four hour time of 3:56:45.
