This weekend saw 3 runners attend the Carsington Water Trail half and 10k. Described as cold and windy with an undulating course, this event runs over two days with Teresa Talbott at the half on Saturday in a time of 2:06:27. Chistine Ridley then ran the 10k in 57:29. On Sunday, Matthew Joyce ran the half in 1:51:16.

12 runners from the Ashby club ran the popular Belvoir Challenge, a 26 or 15 mile trail run across the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. It is a tough course with mud and stiles aplenty but perfect weather conditions and legendary refreshment stops made it an enjoyable day.

Ian Kirk ran the Marathon distance carrying 6.5kg as part of his MDS training. He was happy with his time of 5:13:10 after running further than intended!

In the 15 mile course Matt Pleass in position 36 was first home with a time of 2:01:52. Andy Jeyes second in 2:08:18, nearly 7 minutes faster than last year. Andrea Tricket was first back for the ladies in 2:30:07, then Andy Lindley 2:38:19. Running together Lindsay Tilbury and Emily Wideman had a great run to finish in 2:44:29, with Sarah Malone next in 3:05:05. Andrew Botterill ran his furthest run by 9 miles supported by Grania Towle clocking 3:43:11. Finally Helen Finn and Marie Concannon running together clocked 3:45:57.
