03/12/2017 - Santa, Reggae, Drk Peak, Nott hm

With many Ivanhoe Runners doing the local Ashby Santa Fun Run and Walk, where Martin Yeomans was second of the 1,350 plus Santa's home, it was left to the distance runners to tackle alternative races.

The furthest travelled of these was Andy Lindley, who went to the warm climes of Jamaica for the Reggae Marathon. In his ninth marathon of 2017, the event started in darkness to avoid the heat of the day and Andy ran a swift first half, but slowed and struggled in the latter stages to clock 4.14.19.

Also adding yet another marathon to his huge 2017 tally was Ian Kirk, this time doing the Dark Peak marathon. Starting from Langsett Barns and with steep hills very tricky conditions underfoot with rocks and ice patches, Ian clocked 6 hours and 7 minutes.

In the Nottingham Christmas half marathon at Holme Pierrepoint, Patrick Horn clocked 1.37.15 and Alex Dutton clocked 1.44.50 for the four and a half laps of the water-sports centre.
