Race results

Two members of Ivanhoe Runner’s excellent Cross Country team took on the finest runners in the country as they participated in the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Held on a tough hilly and very muddy course at Parliament Hill in London, the event saw over 5000 runners of all ages line up across ten different races and the Ivanhoe ladies performed brilliantly.

First home was ladies vice-captain Becca Hallam, placing an excellent 182nd of 865 finishers in 37:50. Becca was well supported by club mate Karen Bell who had an equally impressive race to come home 542nd overall in 45:39, a very pleasing result given her Vet 45 category. Club chairman, Kev Sanders, who travelled down to the capital to support the runners along with his wife Judith and committee member Andy Lindley, said “these performances are a great credit to the club showing that Ivanhoe Runners can compete on an equal footing with the best athletic clubs in the land.”
