Although there were no league races on the calendar, Ivanhoe runners were in action at three different endurance races this weekend. In the toughest event, the Charnwood Marathon, Tim Sturla had a brilliant run to finish 43rd on the challenging hilly cross country 26.2 mile course, completing in 5 hours 14 minutes. Five Ivanhoe Runners took on the Loughborough Half Marathon with some great performances. First home was the on-form Steve Baggott with an excellent 12th place overall in 1:23:00. Next was Karen Bell, returning to form to finish first Ivanhoe lady in 1:47:16 (267th) ahead of Lynda Revill, 329th in 1:51:25. Rebecca Wilkinson was next with a great run to set a new personal best time of 1:52:26 (364th) with Phil Slocombe not far behind crossing in 1:54:25 (399th). Elsewhere Becca Hallam, Karl Savill and Laura Harvey took on the Coventry Half Marathon with excellent results. Becca was an incredible 8th lady overall finishing in a new personal fastest time of 1:33:47. Karl also had a great run to beat his previous personal best finishing in 1:57:06 and Laura completed the team coming home strongly in 2:38:22.
