10/06/2022 - parkrunday!

Still contemplating whether being up and at ‘em for 9am is too much on a Saturday morning? Be inspired by the variety of fabulous locations our runners have had the opportunity to see over the last few weeks, all thanks to our free, weekly, timed 5K events.

We saw a big contingent touring at a new parkrun to the family in Ashbourne, with 13 runners who love a chance to try out somewhere new giving it a whirl. Staying in the Midlands, we’ve had runners visiting Forest Rec in Nottingham, Bob running at Newark, Damon and Shaun going back to school round Hastings in Burbage, Alistair Chambers at the flattest course around (Long Eaton), Lucy tried out the ever-changing route at Kingsbury, Mark Bradford and Sarah Malone enjoyed the lake loops at Watermead, and Tom Potter had a blast round Wollaton Hall.

Further afield but keeping our feet on the ground for now, Fiona McKean has been at Heaton parkrun, Vic Smith had another visit to Tetbury Goods Shed, Suzy Parish was at Brundall parkrun for a second time, and the Hopes visited Keswick parkrun, followed a week later by Christine Ridley also checking out the Lake District beauty, with Clare visited Bromley parkrun with her son.

Kevin & Judith have been at Lingwood and Cosmeston Lakes, Andy & Sally had a romantic run at Valentines in addition to Pontypool and Pontypool to help them on their way to the Full Ponty challenge. Laura Graves has had time not only to add Clifton to her collection, but also travelling as far as she can to the end of the country at the bucket list Lands End.

Get your passports ready, we’re off on some adventures next. Matt Pleass took an opportunity to visit parkrun Warszawa-Żoliborz whilst in Poland. In Ireland, Andy Cole had a crack at Glen River, and Mindy & Ken had a fabulous time at Caffarella in Rome. Seeing an open door to make the most of the long bank holiday (thank you and congratulations Queenie), Emily & Mark visited Copenhagen for Amager Fælled and on the Monday joined in with the celebrations for the national Day of Sweden, and extra parkrunday at Malmö Ribersborg parkrun, their UK parkruns earlier in the month being hosted by Durlston in Swanage, Telford and Wolverhampton.
