Race results


2 Ivanhoe ladies ran at the Leicestershire 10k at Prestwold Hall. Abilgail Halcarz had a great run here, earning a new personal best time of 40:02 and coming first female, while Mindy Ashton ran also, stopping the clock at 53:48. Another two runners competed at the Chesterfield half marathon, and praised the event for it's friendliness and good organisation. Ian Bolton ran a swift 1:33:34 and Andrea Trickett ran the course in 1:50:03. Further afield, Andy Cole ran the Lisbon, Portugal half marathon, and was pleased with his result of 1:46:59.

There were also a few runners opting for the Yorkshire Marathon and 10 mile races this weekend, with Andy Jeyes donning his England vest once again to run the marathon distance in an impressive 3:26:30, coming third V70. Mark Hoult also ran the 26.2 miles in a pleasing 4:20:00.

Sally Jeyes took on the 10 mile route, finishing in 1:31:26, and second F70, and Rachel Harden ran her debut race in 2:07:36.

On Wednesday evening, 6 runners ran at the Dave Denton 5k and 1 mile events at Derby. These are a great way for runners to test speed and fitness over a shorter distance and are an opportunity to bank points for Ivanhoe's Grand Prix competition.

In the 1 mile event 5 runners took part, led by Matt Pleass in a speedy 5:11, coming in third overall position. Andrea Trickett came in next at 7:04, followed by Julie Taylor in 7:36, Jane Bland in 7:54 and Helen Brandon in 9:46.

All 6 runners took on the 5k, with Matt Pleass leading in 18:42. Mark Bradford clocked 20:35, followed by Julie Taylor who had a great run to score a new PB time of 22:47. Andrea Trickett finished in 23:08, and Jane Bland also earned a new PB time finishing in 27:15. Helen Brandon completed the team in 33:04.
